Some crafts from the craft show 2 years ago

I'm posting some pictures of the craft show from 2007. I need to make a poster to invite people to the show, and i don't know what pictures to put in. I tried looking for clip art, but it all just looks like cartoons to me. Oh well... I'll think of something!

The first picture is a cross stitch picture my Mother-in-law stitched a few years ago, the next one is an oil painting of a chaco landscape that a friend of my brother-in-law painted.

Guayaba rolls and chocolate chip cookies, etc

I really went crazy in the kitchen today. First I made apple pie filling. I then baked guayaba rolls and used the pie filling for making apple empanadas. I also tried a new recipe from Taste of Home for Mine Run Candy. It turned out OK, but I'm not going to dip them in chocolate. After all that I made a triple recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I went to have a little nap after lunch, then I started a batch of "zwieback" (rolls or buns). I hope I can get them all baked by supper! Have a great weekend everyone!

Finally done

I finally finished my quilt for the craft show. My Mom came to my house on Wednesday and we quilted the whole blanket in a day. Now i finished the binding around it, and it's done! I'll give you a peek....

I'll take more pictures of everything at the show. It opens on the 9th of July, so if anyone is in the area, come and see us!:)

Now i feel like this:

Cattle and kids

We slept in this morning, and after a leisurely drink of "mate" (a hot tea made with the yerba mate leaves, check it out on Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terer%C3%A9) and breakfast, Marvin, the girls and I went to our piece of land outside the village, about 6 km from out house.

We saw the hay bales that my cousin made for us last week. The cattle was all on one place, except for two cows. One had just had a calf at night and all was well with her and baby. The other one was sick, so Marv herded her over to the corral and gave her some injections against "tick-fever" (Sorry, Sister-married-to-a-Veterinarian, i don't know the real name of the sickness).

The girls played with water from the trough. It was a nice and peaceful morning. The bottletree in the photo is a typical tree of the paraguayan Chaco. They don't grow like this anywhere elso on earth. I think they are my sister, Andrea's, favorite tree. Have a great Sunday, all of you!

After the party...

All the company is gone, the kids are in bed. We had a really good barbecue tonight. I just felt so sorry for my nephew and niece, both had fevers and were not feeling good at all. After my sister and her family left, Amy played the guitar for my parents and Marvin and me. Brianna and Cindy went to finish their DVD.

This picture was taken a few years ago, but it captures my Dad so well. Always taking time for the grandchildren. He was explaining something about a turtle to Brianna, our youngest.

My husband Marvin is in this picture, he doesn't want the whole blog world to see him, so i picked out a picture where you can't see him that well. This was taken a few years ago as well, when our village was practically cut off from civilisation (unless you had 4-wheel-drive) for a week or so.

So these are the most important men in my life right now (as we don't have any sons), and i wish them both a very happy Father's Day and that God may help them being the best fathers they can be.
